Accountant - Fixed Term Contract

The Project Accountant will undertake a focused review and analysis of the organisation’s financial accounts, overheads and project performance to provide greater visibility of financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and financial efficiency.

The role will work across accounting and project financial information, with a strong focus on ensuring costs, revenue and financial data are accurately captured, coded and reported.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Reviewing and analysing business overheads and identifying opportunities for improved cost management.

• Reviewing project costing and comparing actual costs against budgets and expectations.

• Analysing accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure transactions are accurate, complete and appropriately managed.

• Reviewing budgets and financial reporting to provide management with clear and meaningful financial information.

• Reviewing cost coding and cash coding to ensure transactions are correctly allocated and financial reporting is accurate.

• Analysing financial data to identify trends, variances, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.

• Supporting management with financial analysis and practical recommendations to improve financial and project performance.

The successful candidate must be proficient in Xero and Microsoft Excel, with strong Excel skills required for financial analysis and reporting. Experience with Monday.com is desirable.

This is a fixed-term three-month position focused on providing a detailed review of the organisation’s accounts, overheads and project financial performance, with the aim of strengthening financial reporting, improving cost management and providing management with greater visibility of overall business performance.
