Remote Community Store - Duty Supervisors - Couple Position

The Company

Our client is currently seeking 2 x Duty Supervisors to work in a busy store in a remote community in North-Western Australia. Located on the coast, this small community offers a fantastic outdoor lifestyle and an excellent opportunity to experience community life, particularly for a couple looking for the chance to work together in a new environment.

The Roles

Duty Supervisor/s – reporting to the Store Managers, the Duty Supervisor/s will assist with the day-to-day operation of the store including customer service; cashier duties; opening and closing; maintaining stock; rotating stock; store merchandising; stock ordering; staff supervision; assisting in the takeaway kitchen (as required); and cleaning the store and warehouse areas.

The Training & Development

These roles will be provided with hands-on training across all areas to develop the skills required to successfully grow into Duty Supervisor positions. The role is also a career stepping stone into a managerial position, with Duty Supervisors taking on responsibility as Acting Store Manager on weekends as required. Full training will be provided.

The Requirements

To be considered for these positions, applicants require:

• Previous experience working in remote community stores, retail stores or roadhouses (preferred)
• Previous experience working in remote locations (preferred)
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Flexible approach, positive attitude, punctuality and a willingness to learn
• Current forklift licence, or willingness and ability to obtain one
• Current National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement
• A commitment to remain in the role for a minimum of 12 months
• Full Australian working rights for the duration of the position

Due to the minimum 12-month commitment required, these positions are not suitable for applicants seeking short-term or holiday employment. Employer sponsorship is not available for these roles.

The Rewards

Working in a beautiful location, both positions receive a full-time annual salary + superannuation, with the starting package sitting above the Retail Award and averaging 38 hours per week. Both positions work Monday to Friday and every second Saturday morning.

A fully furnished house suitable for a couple is heavily subsidised, and days off can be spent enjoying the local area or driving back to Broome for R&R.

The roles are provided with full training and offer a great opportunity to learn new skills across all areas of store management.
