Position: Volunteer Social Support Assistant Location: Volunteer at one of 100+ service locations across NSW & ACT  At Uniting, we take real steps toward making the world a better place. Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations with residents. Encourage participation in leisure and wellness programs based on residents’ interests. Uphold ethical and professional boundaries to ensure a safe and inclusive environment. Be punctual, reliable, and report any concerns to your designated coordinator. Activities are driven by resident interest, which differs from home to home, the above is just a sample. Other key tasks include: Setting up and packing down activity spaces Encouraging and supporting residents to participate Helping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere Your time and enthusiasm can make a real difference—join us in bringing smiles and meaningful moments to our residents! Volunteer characteristics we are looking for: Aligned to Uniting’s values: Compassionate, Respectful, Imaginative, Bold Commitment: Days and times for volunteering are flexible however roles which build relationships with people require a minimum commitment of 6-months. You can discuss your availability with our team. Able to commit and be punctual and inform your manager if something arises. A willingness to complete Uniting’s essential online induction and training A willingness to undergo backgrounds checks: which include a National Police check, reference checks, and other role dependent checks such as Working with Children Check Person centred and a great communicator Application review timeframes and processThe ability to secure a volunteering position Uniting depends on several factors, including availability at your requested location and your ability to provide all necessary pre-requisites. Once you register your interest, our team will review your application and attempt to match you with a suitable opportunity. An interview may be required before final selection.
