Disability Support Worker

About the Position

We are seeking experienced female Support Workers to support three female participants within a 1:3 Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment, as well as providing 1:1 Community Access support in the Griffin area.

This position is open to female applicants only. This is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), due to the nature of the supports provided and participants’ privacy, dignity and personal care needs.

We’re looking for Support Workers who understand that quality, person-centered support builds independence, confidence and capacity. You’ll bring proven disability support experience, particularly supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), together with a strong understanding of capacity building, choice and control.

Working alongside participants, you’ll assist with daily living skills, medication support, community participation, social and recreational activities, healthy lifestyle choices and supporting participants to achieve their individual goals.

Role & Availability Requirements

• Qualified and experienced female Support Workers with relevant disability support experience.

• Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekdays, weekends, sleepover shifts and public holidays. Wednesday and Thursday availability is required.

• SIL shifts are generally rostered 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm, with sleepover shifts from 10:00pm–6:00am.

• 1:1 Community Access supports are provided across weekdays and weekends, with shift times varying according to participants’ individual support needs and activities.

• Flexibility is essential, as rostered hours may vary in response to participants’ support needs.
