The OpportunityAs a Business Valuations Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of independent business, equity and intangible asset valuations across a broad range of industries and client engagements.
Working closely with our Valuations Directors, you'll gain hands-on experience in financial modelling, valuation analysis, market research and the preparation of detailed valuation reports for a variety of commercial purposes.
This role is ideal for an analytical professional looking to build specialist expertise in business valuations while working within a collaborative and growing Corporate Advisory team.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting the Valuations Directors across all aspects of business, equity and intangible asset valuations. Analysing financial statements, management accounts, budgets and forecasts. Identifying financial trends, key performance metrics, business drivers, unusual transactions and accounting matters that may affect financial performance. Participating in client meetings, information-gathering discussions and management interviews. Conducting industry, market, comparable company and comparable transaction research. Preparing and reviewing financial models. Applying recognised valuation methodologies, including discounted cash flow, capitalisation of earnings and market-based approaches. Assisting with the preparation of valuation reports that clearly set out the methodology, assumptions, analysis and conclusions. Preparing high-quality supporting workpapers and maintaining accurate engagement documentation.
About YouYou are an analytical and commercially minded professional with a genuine interest in business valuations and financial analysis. You enjoy solving complex problems, working with financial data and producing high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail.
Essential Skills and Experience:1–3 years' experience within a professional services firm, ideally in business valuations, audit, business advisory, corporate finance or a related field. Previous business valuations experience is highly regarded but not essential. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline. Working towards (or interested in commencing) CA, CPA or CFA qualifications. Strong analytical, numerical and critical thinking skills. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling. Excellent written communication and report writing skills. Exceptional attention to detail and a commercial mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the confidence to work directly with clients and senior team members.
