About the role
The Senior Manager, Portfolio Operations (Strategy) supports the delivery, governance and operational oversight of key strategic portfolio activities across Team Super.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Portfolio Operations - Strategy, the role coordinates a portfolio of governance, reporting, actuarial, vendor, policy and strategic initiatives that support the Fund’s strategy, member outcomes, compliance, risk management and operational resilience.
The role works with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure portfolio activities are well planned, appropriately governed, delivered on time and supported by clear reporting, evidence, controls and decision records.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the Portfolio Operations roadmap and supporting work plans, ensuring priorities, dependencies, milestones, owners, risks and decision points are documented, refreshed and escalated as needed.
Support delivery of strategic and operational initiatives across defined benefit, regulatory reporting, governance, vendor management, member engagement, policy oversight and related portfolio activities.
Coordinate defined benefit and actuarial governance activities, including trigger point reviews, actuarial reporting, framework reviews, statements of work, independent reviews, funding and solvency certificates, compliance overviews and Governance Activity Register items.
Plan and support the Defined Benefit Framework biennial review, including content review, legal review, stakeholder input, board and committee reporting, evidence and action tracking.
Maintain and coordinate regulatory reporting activities, including annual VBI reporting, SPS 160 compliance overview activities and other defined benefit or prudential obligations, ensuring ownership, inputs, approval pathways, evidence and due dates are clear.
Coordinate Design and Distribution Obligations governance, including procedures, target market determination review schedules, trigger registers, distributor monitoring, complaints, significant dealings, incidents, annual attestation activity, open-action reviews and roadmap refreshes.
Support controls, policy and framework oversight, including review requirements and actions, documentation standards, version control, reporting cadence and benefits tracking.
Support strategic vendor and related-party service arrangements, including due diligence, service level review, fee structure analysis, legal review and transition to business-as-usual ownership.
Coordinate strategic initiatives such as reserve reviews, remediation and operating model activities, ensuring scope, milestones, responsibilities, risks, deliverables, stakeholder engagement and implementation plans are clear.
Prepare briefings, recommendations and escalation material for the Executive Manager, Portfolio Operations - Strategy and broader Strategy leadership team, and undertake other duties where delegated consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate qualifications in business, commerce, law, finance, strategy, governance, risk, superannuation or a related discipline; postgraduate studies, RG146, ASFA or other relevant superannuation qualifications desirable.
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated senior experience in portfolio operations, strategy, governance, regulatory reporting, finance, project delivery or superannuation.
Strong working knowledge of superannuation, financial services, trustee governance, regulatory obligations, risk management and compliance expectations.
Experience preparing senior executive, board and committee papers, briefings, recommendations and decision materials.
Proven ability to coordinate complex cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, governance forums, delivery milestones and evidence requirements.
Strong planning, prioritization, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage concurrent activities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and external vendors.
Experience in vendor management, contract review, related-party arrangements, defined benefits, actuarial oversight, Design and Distribution Obligations, prudential governance or assurance-related activities desirable.
Strong collaboration and teamwork, judgement, integrity and accountability, with a constructive and outcomes-focused approach.
