About the role
Mount Barker District Council is seeking a motivated, safety-focused to help maintain and improve the parks, reserves, streetscapes and public spaces our growing community enjoys.
You will help maintain Council’s natural and built assets through varied outdoor work, delivering efficient, innovative and safe services that support a vibrant, sustainable community.
In this role, you will maintain parks, gardens, reserves and public spaces to a high standard, undertaking landscaping, mowing, weeding, minor tree maintenance, graffiti removal, litter collection and waste management.
You will also operate and maintain specialised plant, machinery, hand and power tools, deliver scheduled maintenance and improvement programs, support a positive customer-focused and safety-first culture, assist with work planning, improvement initiatives and mentoring where required, and support emergency response and other operational activities as needed.
You are a reliable, enthusiastic team player who enjoys outdoor work, a strong commitment to safety and customer service and takes pride in quality outcomes.
This role requires a Certificate III in Horticulture, or relevant equivalent skills and experience, along with experience operating plant, machinery and maintenance equipment, a current MR Truck License, a White Card or willingness to obtain one.
