About the Opportunity

Matraville Doctors are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Geriatrician to establish and grow a comprehensive community-based geriatric medicine service across our two modern, well-established practices.

This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist who enjoys multidisciplinary care and wants to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of older Australians. You will work alongside experienced General Practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals and visiting specialists to deliver integrated, patient-centred care.

The role can be tailored to suit your preferred working arrangements, with sessional consulting opportunities available.

About the Role

You will provide comprehensive assessment and management of older adults, including:

• Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments

• Memory and cognitive assessments

• Falls and mobility assessments

• Polypharmacy and medication reviews

• Frailty and complex chronic disease management

• Dementia diagnosis and ongoing care

• Advance care planning

• Collaborative care with GPs, nurses and allied health professionals

Essential Requirements

• Current Specialist Registration with AHPRA

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine (or equivalent specialist recognition)

• Medicare provider eligibility

• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills

• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
