MECHANICAL ENGINEER - OFFICE FITOUTS

We are a successful Building Services Consultancy Firm, established in 2012.  We provide professional services with a professional touch.  We value environmentally sustainable design.  We provide sustainable design solutions for all types of buildings, including commercial, education, hospitals, data centres, etc.  60-70% of our current work is in fast paced office fitouts, with other work in base building refurbishment, restaurants, hospitals, aged care and warehouse works. We are located in Melbourne’s CBD, with two directors (both with strong family values) and a team of thirteen people in total.  We emphasize both personal and professional development for all of our team, and encourage leadership traits from everyone.  We are well known and regarded within our industry, with repeat and referral work often coming our way.   We are proud of the work quality and care that we provide to our clients.  

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team, located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical engineering designs and documentation specifically tailored for commercial office fit-outs. This is a hands-on position ideal for an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering innovative, efficient, and compliant building services solutions.

• Prepare detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and documentation for commercial office fit-outs.

• Coordinate mechanical services with other building trades, architects, and interior designers.

• Conduct site inspections, surveys, and attend design and client meetings.

• Ensure all projects comply with relevant Australian Standards, NCC codes, and client briefs.

• Manage project workflows efficiently from concept through to construction completion.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Formal Engineering Qualification: A recognised degree in Engineering (ideally specialising in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering).

• Industry Experience: A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience working on commercial office fit-outs within the Australian engineering sector.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of HVAC, smoke ventilation, and mechanical services design principles.

• Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.

• Work Rights: Full working rights with readiness and ability to work permanently in Australia.

• Competitive Remuneration: A salary package ranging from $90,000 to $125,000 + Super, dependent on your level of experience.
