Medical Receptionist – Kirrawee & New Heathcote Clinic

MyMedical Health Centre Kirrawee and Heathcote are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our growing team.

We are currently recruiting for one full-time and one part-time/casual Medical Receptionist to work across our existing Kirrawee practice and our new Heathcote clinic, opening on 1 October 2026.

Previous experience working in a medical practice is essential.

About the role

You will be joining a busy and supportive team of receptionists, working alongside 3–5 GPs per day, nurses, physiotherapists and other allied health providers.

The successful applicants may be required to work across both our Kirrawee and Heathcote locations, providing an excellent opportunity to be part of the growth of our new clinic.

Hours

• 5–8 hours per day
• 3–5 days per week
• Monday–Friday: 8:00 am–5:30 pm
• Saturday: 9:00 am–2:00 pm
• Flexibility to work across different shifts is highly desirable
• Immediate start available

Key responsibilities

The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Welcoming patients and providing professional and friendly customer service
• Patient management, prioritisation and appointment scheduling
• Liaising with doctors, nurses and other reception staff
• Medicare, DVA and private billing
• Processing incoming and outgoing mail and faxes
• Accurate scanning and management of patient documents
• Maintaining electronic medical records
• Accounts, payments and receipting
• Maintaining cleanliness and restocking consultation rooms and clinical areas
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice
• Providing reception support at both Kirrawee and Heathcote as required

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will have:

• Minimum 3 months' medical reception experience – essential
• Medical administration experience – 1 year preferred
• Customer service experience – 1 year required
• Previous experience with Best Practice is highly regarded
• Excellent computer and data-entry skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
• Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and initiative
• Ability and willingness to learn new systems and skills
• Professional presentation and a positive attitude
• Energy, reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to work across both clinic locations
