The Birthing in Our Communities (BiOC) program provides a coordinated and culturally safe support system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families during pregnancy and childbirth. By offering a comprehensive mix of services tailored to family and community needs, we aim to build family capacity, strengthen community connections, and safeguard the wellbeing of children.
Through holistic case management, and collaboration with multiple service providers, the Birthing in our Communities Practitioner will support families, through a client led framework of practice, to improve maternal and infant health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families. The Practitioner will walk alongside families to identify and connect families to appropriate referral pathways, increasing safety, support and connection.
