About the role
C.P.E. are a reputable, family-owned business specializing in the Crushing Plant & Equipment sector within the Quarry, Mining, Recycling, and Manufacturing industries.
Due to our growth, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a hands-on, dynamic environment with a close-knit, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs on crushing plant equipment and machinery.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Interpret technical drawings and schematics to carry out precise repairs and installations.
Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring optimal function and safety.
Carry out welding (MIG/TIG) for repairs and modifications as needed.
Maintain and service machinery and plant equipment using a wide range of tools and machinery.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, with experience in the quarry, mining, recycling, or manufacturing industries (any experience with crushers, fixed and mobile is an advantage)
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their maintenance.
Proficiency with a variety of machinery and mechanical tools.
Welding experience (MIG/TIG) beneficial for machinery repair and basic fabrication.
Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive approach to safety and commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cert III in Mechanical Engineering or a similar qualification.
High Risk License (WP)
White Card.
Dogging or Rigging (Preferred)
