Location: Braddon, Canberra ACT
Employment type: Casual
Hours: Fridays 9am to 5pm. Saturdays 9am to 3pm.
Pay: From $36.81 per hour, depending on experience and award classification.

About the role

Blooms of Braddon is looking for a creative, friendly and reliable florist to join our small team.

This is a hands-on retail role suited to someone who has experience as a Florist and enjoys working with beautiful seasonal flowers, creating thoughtful arrangements and providing warm, personal customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Creating bouquets and floral arrangements for everyday orders, gifts, events and special occasions

• Preparing and conditioning fresh flowers and foliage

• Serving customers and helping them choose suitable flowers

• Taking orders in-store, over the phone and online

• Wrapping and presenting flowers beautifully

• Processing sales and operating the point-of-sale system

• Maintaining attractive flower, gift and shop displays

• Monitoring flower quality and rotating stock

• Washing buckets daily and mopping floors

• Keeping the workbench, and retail space clean and organised

• Assisting with deliveries, unpacking stock and general shop duties

• Supporting the team during busy periods, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas

About you

We would love to hear from someone who:

• Has previous floristry experience in a retail flower shop

• Can confidently create bouquets and arrangements independently

• Has a good eye for colour, texture and floral design

• Understands flower care, conditioning and handling

• Is friendly, approachable and confident with customers

• Works efficiently and remains calm during busy periods

• Is reliable, punctual and well organised

• Is physically able to stand for extended periods and lift flower buckets and stock

• Is available to work Fridays, Saturdays and peak floral occasions

• Holds a current driver’s licence — preferred but not essential

A formal floristry qualification is desirable, although practical retail floristry experience and strong design skills will also be considered.
