Remuneration: $121,568 – $125,507 per annum

Location: Westmead Centre for Oral Health and other oral health clinics of WSLHD

What you'll be doing
In this senior clinical leadership role, you'll provide advanced oral health care to patients with complex treatment needs while coordinating and supporting university clinical placements. You'll combine expert clinical practice with mentoring, leadership and clinical governance to deliver exceptional patient care and an outstanding learning experience for future Oral Health Therapists.
Deliver comprehensive oral health assessment, treatment planning and care for patients, including those with complex clinical, behavioural and disability-related needs
Lead and coordinate student clinical placements, providing supervision, mentorship and professional guidance to university-appointed clinical educators and Oral Health Therapy students
Manage patient care collaboratively, coordinating referrals and working closely with Dental Officers, Specialists and multidisciplinary teams
Champion high standards of clinical governance, infection prevention, documentation and continuous quality improvement
Contribute to oral health promotion, research, professional development and service improvement initiatives across the department

Essential Requirements:
Registration: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as an Oral Health Therapist
Selection Criteria:
Demonstrated advanced clinical and diagnostic skills.
Demonstrated skill in the management of patients with medical comorbidities and complex dental needs.
Mature independent judgement and problem solving skills in a clinical situation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a preventative / population health approach to patient care.
A demonstrated ability to work independently, and within a large team exercising leadership and mentoring skills.
A demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
