The Role

Due to the continued growth of Wanless, we’re on the lookout for a hands-on Labourer to join our brand new, busy depot in Smithfield.

This isn’t just another labouring job—you’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team where you can learn new skills, take on different challenges and grow your experience in the recycling and waste industry.

What you’ll be doing

• Clean and assemble waste and recycling bins
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organisation
• Support operations with general yard duties
• Assisting customers with drop-offs and enquiries
• Using power tools such as drills, grinders and hand tools
• Using a forklift to move and load/unload bins and other items
• If licenced; train to be a spare route Truck Driver when needed

About You

Experience in recycling or waste is great but not essential—if you’re dependable, eager to learn, and ready to roll up your sleeves, we’ll train you! Extra brownie points if you hold a truck licence, have welding skills or trade experience.

You’ll bring:

• Waste Industry / Scrap Metal experience (desirable)
• Punctual, reliable and fit for physical work
• A team player who’s switched on and can work independently
• Well presented and safety-focused
• Willing to pitch in and take on a variety of jobs
• A positive, team-first attitude
• Have a drivers licence and reliable transport (essential)
• Have a current Forklift License & min 2 years experience (essential)
• HR Truck Licence (desirable)
• Able to pass a medical and regular random Drug & Alcohol testing
