Payroll Officer - Contract Role

• Payroll Officer - 9 months contract with potential extensions

• Sydney CBD Office - 5 days full time position (On site)

• Contract commencing in Oct / Nov 2026

About the role

The Payroll Officer is responsible for effective management of the Payroll function of the Banking & Finance sector.

This position is responsible for preparation and salary / Super payment and maintenance of related records, in a timely manner and in line with relevant taxation, legislative and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and process employee entitlements including wages, superannuation contributions and employee benefits in accordance with awards and enterprise agreements

• Liaise with employees and managers regarding payroll queries and employment-related matters

• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information

• Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and processes

• Processing new employees, terminations & statutory related payments etc

• Reconcile payroll, payroll tax, insurance and authorized payroll deduction

• Calculate and maintain leave entitlement

• Provide reports to management as required to satisfy the payroll related information requests of the department

• Any adhoc duties / project assigned via department

Requirements

• Meridian mircopay experience is A MUST

• A minimum of 2 years local related end to end payroll experience

• Fluency in English & Mandarin communication skills at all level

• Bachelor qualification and above

• Good team player and attention to details

• Able to meet the deadlines at all time & good time management
