Sydney Central Hotel, managed by The Ascott Limited, now seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated person to join as Guest Service Officer – Night.  This part-time role will report to the Guest Service Manager and work closely with other departments. 

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Delivering a professional and welcoming front office experience for late-arriving guests, including smooth check-in, room access verification, and responding to overnight enquiries.
• Maintaining guest safety, security, and privacy by conducting regular property checks, monitoring public areas, and following overnight security procedures.
• Completing nightly audit and financial tasks accurately, including balancing transactions, processing charges, and preparing end-of-day reports and banking documentation.
• Coordinating effectively with housekeeping and other departments to communicate guest requests, early departures, VIP needs, maintenance issues, and shift handover information.
• Upholding presentation, compliance, and operational standards throughout the shift, including lobby presentation, administrative checks, cash handling, and adherence to company and EHS policies.

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Previous experience in guest service, front office, or customer-facing hospitality roles, with the confidence to assist guests independently during overnight shifts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, handle guest concerns professionally, and work closely with internal departments.
• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when completing night audit tasks, financial balancing, administrative checks, and guest account processes.
• A proactive and calm approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage late-night enquiries, emergencies, complaints, and security matters effectively.
• Professional presentation and a strong commitment to company standards, including grooming, policy compliance, training participation, and health and safety practices.
