Social Coordinator Community Services

Design and deliver social and wellness programs that enhance the lives of older people in the community.

We’re now seeking a Social Coordinator to join our Marion Community Services team on a full time basis fixed term contract 6 months.

In this rewarding role, you’ll work in partnership with community clients to plan and implement wellbeing and social offerings that enhance
independence and support older people to remain living in their community of choice. A focus on each individual’s choice, strengths, capacity, and goals will influence the program offering.

Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborate with Care Partners to ensure person-centred services are delivered
• Monitor social and wellness program expenditure and budget results
• Support staff delivering / assisting with social and wellness programs
• Monitor social and wellness program expenditure and budget results

Essential Criteria:   

• Empathy and understanding of issues for older people, their families, and carers
• A commitment to supporting older people to remain at home in the community
• Demonstrated ability to work in a holistic, person centred model of care
• Able to travel to venues for overseeing social outings / activities 
• Demonstrated ability in coordinating leisure and lifestyle activities 
• Computer literacy 
• An SA Driver's License 

• The following qualifications are highly regarded: Cert IV Leisure and Health, Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Aging Studies and Services.
