About the role
Childcare Centre - Early Childhood Teacher
Be part of an exciting opportunity to work in a brand new purpose built childcare centre, with an emphasis on supporting each child's unique talents and abilities. The centre is part of an established team with long standing Educators, a dedicated child psychologist and strong community support.
We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher who has a genuine passion for children and is committed to delivering a high quality service.
Responsibilities and qualifications include:
Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care - Early Childhood Teacher
Current First Aid certificate, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis (or willingness to undertake).
Cleared Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Implement the planning cycle by observing, assessing, evaluating and documenting children’s learning.
Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs for individual children or groups, in consultation with the Assistant Director/Director and Educational Leader.
Provide a variety of experiences to develop children cognitively, socially and emotionally, assisting them to achieve their developmental milestones.
Document, monitor and observe children’s progress against developmental milestones. Review and discuss progress with families.
Confidence and ability to lead a group of children and Educators in running the room.
Ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children.
Ensure that records are maintained accurately for each child in their care.
Develop, implement and evaluate daily care routines.
Ensure that the centre or service’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
Support the day to day operation of the service.
Supervise students on placement, as directed by the Director.
Collaborate with teachers across year levels to ensure smooth transitions for children going from childcare / pre-school to their first year of primary school.
Implement the Child Safe Standards, ensuring child-safe environment that meet the NQF requirements.
Be responsive to children’s health, development and wellbeing needs, ensuring medical plans are in place and implemented consistently.
Sound knowledge of the EYLF and National Quality Framework including the National Quality Standards and Early Education and Care Services Regulations.
Participate in the National Quality Standards Process.
Current Child Protection Training, or willingness to undertake training.
Eagerness to participate in professional development as required.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work and support a team environment.
Ability to mentor, lead and guide other Educators.
Ability to work with Psychologist and other professionals in relation to a child's needs / development.
Ability to be creative and innovative in implementing all programs and planned experiences.
Ability to develop positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
Planning and execution skills.
Problem solving abilities.
Readiness to go above and beyond when necessary to reach goals.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet service demands.
Work within a positive and enjoyable team environment.
