Senior Defence Capability Specialist

UBH Group, part of Sovereign Capability Group, is seeking an experienced Senior Defence Capability Specialist to support the ongoing development, integration and delivery of an important Defence operational capability.
Working within a complex Defence operational environment, you will support the development and integration of Defence intelligence capability, analysing operational and user requirements, emerging capabilities, risks and interoperability issues and translating these into practical capability requirements and outcomes.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the Defence operating environment, can work independently and enjoys turning complex requirements into practical capability outcomes.
What you'll do
Analyse operational and user requirements, emerging capabilities, risks and interoperability issues and identify implications for the Mission System.
Work with Defence stakeholders and operational users to translate requirements into practical capability and support requirements.
Contribute to capability planning and progress agreed requirements through implementation, including priorities, actions, dependencies and resource requirements.
Assess emerging capabilities and projects for integration, interoperability, data and support implications.
Identify capability gaps and integration issues and work with stakeholders to develop and progress practical responses.
Develop and maintain capability, requirements, sustainment and support documentation and prepare clear analysis, plans, briefs and recommendations.
What you'll bring
Around eight years' experience within Australian Defence or a closely related Defence environment.
Strong understanding of Defence intelligence, targeting, Electronic Warfare (EW) and/or Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) environments.
Experience in Defence capability development, integration, project delivery or capability management.
Experience analysing operational or user requirements and translating them into practical capability, system or support requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, requirements analysis and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and confidently across complex Defence operational, technical and stakeholder environments, including with senior stakeholders.
Current AGSVA TSPV security clearance.
Highly regarded: Experience within Joint, CASG, Service Headquarters or Component Command environments, or with C2, Intelligence Mission Systems, capability integration or interoperability.
