Registered Nurse (Div1) - General Practice Clinic

Kardinia Health is seeking to employ a Division One Nurse for a part- time position.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working with general practitioners and allied health professionals. Kardinia Health delivers a high standard of primary health care to the community and contributes to the training of the next generation of primary health care providers.

The successful candidate must be available for regular 8 hour shifts on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The shifts offered are for a full day, scheduled from 9am and 5pm. Saturday mornings 9am-1pm are shared on an equal rotation across the nursing team - about 1 in 5 Saturdays.

This role is a leave and maternity leave contract with immediate commencement through to January 2028.

Working within their scope of practice, the Division One Nurse's role is to work collaboratively with Kardinia Health's multi-disciplinary health team to deliver care that meets patient's needs.

The Division One Nurse responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Undertaking clinical nursing duties including triage, health assessments, wound management, immunisation and first aid

• Development of Chronic Disease Management Plans

• Delivering patient education

• Participation in case conferences

• Supervision of undergraduate health students

• Adherence to all organisational policies and procedures including infection control and OH&S standards

• Contribute to policy and procedure development

• To assist with practice accreditation

• Other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Division 1 Nursing qualifications with a minimum of 2-year experience in clinical nursing, post graduate year

• Experience working in a high functioning multidisciplinary team as well as ability to work as solo practitioner

• Current practicing Certificate of Registration with the National Registration Board (Australia)

• Highly developed IT skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation and conflict management skills

• Proven ability and commitment to patient service and continuous quality improvement

Desirable

• Asthma management/education course completed, and immunisation certificate completed

• Experience in using Best Practice Software

• IV cannulation skills

• Up to Date with CPR training

• Experience in clinical supervision of students

• Experience working in a private health care setting
