Field Supervisor

BSA is an Australian-owned technical services company with more than 20 years’ experience delivering critical infrastructure solutions for some of Australia’s largest organisations.
We’re looking for an experienced Field Supervisor to join our Electrical Services team in Lidcombe. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, supporting technicians and contractors, and ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality delivery across our smart metering projects.
You’ll combine strong technical expertise with people and operational leadership, helping our field teams deliver against client requirements, service levels and KPIs.
What you’ll be doing
As a Field Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for:
Overseeing the daily field operations of BSA employees and contractors across assigned projects or regionsProviding on-site technical support, guidance and supervision to field technicians and contractorsConducting quality and documentation checks to ensure work meets BSA and client standardsMonitoring field performance against agreed service levels and KPIsProviding solutions to complex technical issues and failed or incomplete field visitsKeeping the Operations Manager informed of daily operational matters, including workforce availability and absencesProactively communicating delays, issues and operational impacts to relevant stakeholdersCommunicating with clients on behalf of BSA and supporting strong client relationshipsSupporting the onboarding of contractors and providing assistance with technical trainingManaging workforce availability, capacity, stock distribution and field materialsIdentifying deficiencies and implementing or recommending corrective actionsEnsuring company procedures are implemented effectively and identifying opportunities for improvementResponding to customer complaints and enquiries professionally and promptlyUndertaking installations and service calls where required
Safety, quality and compliance
Safety is a key part of this role. You’ll be expected to:
Promote and support a strong safety-first culture across field operationsEnsure safe work procedures, BSA policies and critical risk controls are followedProvide appropriate technical and HSE guidance to employees and contractorsConduct monthly live HSE audits and address any identified issuesEnsure appropriate PPE is usedParticipate in incident investigations and complete required reportingIdentify and escalate HSE risks and issues to managementSupport a safe working environment for our people, customers and the public
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
A Grade Electrical licenceASP Level 2 accreditation (CAT 4 / Class 2D)Extensive experience in the metering industryStrong knowledge of smart metering and field service operationsUnderstanding of changes to the National Electricity Rules (NER) and Type 1–4 meter rolloutsExperience managing or supervising field teams and contractorsStrong technical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong organisational and time management skillsThe ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational issues
