Production Estimator – House & Land

Role Overview

The Production Estimator plays a key role within our growing House & Land division, working closely with our Administration and Procurement teams to ensure every project is accurately costed and prepared for efficient delivery to site. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), locked budgets, and supplier and contractor purchase orders, supporting the successful execution of every build. By analysing project documentation, supplier quotations, engineering plans, specifications, permits and drawings, you will ensure all estimating outputs are accurate, compliant, and aligned with our construction methodology and company standards.

What you’ll do

• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and complete accurate construction takeoffs across residential House & Land projects in accordance with company methodology;
• Review and analyse contracts, permits, architectural drawings, engineering plans, and specifications to identify builder requirements, errors, or inconsistencies;
• Process Purchase Orders with detailed notes, analyse supplier quotes for scope conformance and value for money, and action Extra to Orders (ETOs) in a timely manner;
• Collaborate closely with construction personnel to ensure supplier and trade allocations align with project requirements and site methodologies;
• Implement self-checking measures, cross-check peer takeoffs, maintain estimating checklists, and produce detailed clarification lists for project queries;
• Review monthly ETOs to identify improvement areas, and implement effective cost control measures

About You

• You hold a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building, Estimating, or a related discipline;
• You have 5+ years’ experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, or a procurement-related role;
• You are proficient in estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, PlanSwift, or similar takeoff platforms, with the ability to accurately interpret architectural and engineering drawings;
• You have a strong eye for detail and proven experience producing accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and cost analyses;
• You possess excellent numerical and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with complex cost data;
• You are an effective communicator who builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while confidently managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines;
• You have a solid understanding of volume residential builds.
