Electrical Service Technician

ACE Materials Handling Pty Ltd is an Australian owned engineering and materials handling company which has been operating since 1991 with branches in Sydney, Newcastle, Mascot, Wollongong, Brisbane, Brendale, Darwin, Cairns, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Townsville. We provide services to clients in all industries through inspection, service, maintenance & repair of their materials handling equipment and other assets.

We have launched a new division which is focused on emerging products we have secured though agency agreements in robotics and automation for defence industry and heavy manufacturing including mining equipment.

This role will see the technician completing a variety of tasks on automatic doors, overhead cranes, vehicle hoists, industrial equipment, mobile machinery and a wide range of materials handling equipment on various clients sites. Our clients range from industrial, civil, government, aviation, marina and defence, providing a diverse range of work to those who seek it, with the opportunity to primarily work in specific areas noted for the right candidate. 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Electrical Service Technician to provide excellent support to our Cairns based team in a full-time capacity. We welcome Electrical candidates with a background in commercial, domestic or industrial as we will provide internal training for the right candidate looking to embark in our industry.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for undertaking high-quality inspections, servicing, maintenance, repairs and breakdown assistance for our customers on a variety of materials handling equipment. Our clients range from industrial, civil, government, aviation, marina and defence, providing a diverse range of work to those who seek it, with the opportunity to primarily work in specific areas noted for the right candidate.

To be successful in this role, the following qualifications and attributes are essential

• Electrical Trade qualification or equivalent

• White Card (or ability to obtain)

• High attention to detail

• Positive attitude and approach to challenges

• Current Driver’s License

• The ability to problem solve with strong diagnostic skills

It would be highly desirable if the successful candidate already obtained the following however, is not a requirement for the role and if needed in future for the position, the below will be organised and funded for the successful candidate;

• Working at Heights

• Hazardous Area qualification

• Programming experience advantageous for additional services but not required for role

• EWP <11m / >11m

• First Aid

• LVR/CPR
