About the role
We are an established women's health-based practice in Strathfield, NSW, seeking an experienced Practice Manager/ Business Development Manager to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of the practice, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care. It offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the day-to-day operations, and contribute to the success and growth of our practice.
Key responsibilities
Managing all administrative operations of the practice, ensuring scheduling, patient records management, and office procedures are maintained by staff
Overseeing financial management, including billing, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, and financial reporting
Recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring administrative and clinical support staff
Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and industry standards
Implementing, improving and maintaining systems and processes to enhance efficiency and patient experience
Managing and handling complex patient communications and feedback professionally
Liaising with healthcare providers, suppliers, and external stakeholders
Maintaining, updating and improving practice policies and procedures
Preparing and presenting regular reports on practice performance and key metrics
Managing practice resources, including equipment maintenance, inventory, and facility management
What we're looking for
Proven experience working as a Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare administration role
Strong knowledge of medical practice operations, healthcare compliance, and relevant legislation including privacy requirements
Excellent financial management skills, experience with practice accounting software and budgeting an advantage (experience with Xero preferred but not essential)
Demonstrated leader, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Exceptional organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating with staff, patients, and external partners
Proficiency with practice management software (Genie preferred) and Microsoft Office applications
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion when handling sensitive information
Current understanding of Australian healthcare regulations and medical practice requirements
