Our client is a long-established accounting and advisory firm with over 30 years of experience supporting small to medium-sized businesses across Southeast Queensland. With multiple office locations and a broad service offering spanning tax, business advisory, bookkeeping and audit, the firm is recognised for delivering practical, high-quality accounting solutions across a diverse client base.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to step into a leadership role, overseeing Junior and Intermediate Accountants while maintaining hands-on involvement in client work and technical delivery. You will work closely with senior leadership to support workflow management, client outcomes and team development within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role:
Lead, mentor and support Junior and Intermediate Accountants to ensure strong performance and development
Oversee client work including financial statements, tax returns and compliance engagements
Review work for accuracy, quality and adherence to accounting standards
Manage and maintain strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio
Support Partners and senior leadership on advisory, planning and strategic matters
Assist with workflow coordination and team task allocation
Ensure compliance with relevant taxation legislation and accounting standards
Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team
Identify risks and support appropriate resolution in client engagements
About You:
5+ years’ experience in Australian public practice accounting
Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong technical knowledge of tax, accounting standards and compliance requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA/CA preferred or in progress)
Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks
Strong communication and client relationship skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
