School Uniform Shop/ Retail Assistant (Part-Time 13 hours per week)

We are seeking a friendly, organised and customer-focused Uniform Shop Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our busy school uniform shop. This role involves assisting students and families with uniform purchases and fittings, maintaining stock, and providing a welcoming customer experience.

Hours of Work

• Part-time position

• 13 hours per week during school terms. Applicants with availability on Mondays and Thursdays between 7.00am             and 2.00pm will be highly regarded.

• Work during term-time plus one week during non-term time (39 weeks per year). The salary will be averaged                  across equal fortnightly payments across the year. 

• Days and hours may be flexible by mutual agreement. Capacity to work additional hours, by agreement, during               peak periods and special events is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents and staff.

• Assist customers with uniform fittings and sizing.

• Process sales and point-of-sale transactions accurately.

• Receive, process and replenish stock.

• Inspect and maintain the quality and presentation of second-hand uniform items.

• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.

• Assist with merchandising and presentation of the uniform shop.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming shop environment.

Skills and Experience

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Basic computer and administration skills.

• Experience in a school uniform shop or retail environment is highly desirable.

Role Requirements

• Ability to undertake manual handling tasks associated with stock management.

• Ability to safely lift, carry and move boxes of uniforms and supplies.

• Capacity to stand and move around for extended periods while assisting customers with uniform fittings and                   sales.
