Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a medical receptionist to join our team at Sunshine Coast General Surgeons. It is a fast paced and dynamic practice, based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. We place a strong emphasis on team culture and values. As such, we welcome applications from candidates across a range of experience levels, from entry-level through to senior receptionists, and will appoint the applicant who is the best fit for our practice.

This part-time position requires 20-25 hours per week.

What you'll be doing

• Providing exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients

• Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments

• Handling patient inquiries and providing information about our services

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and files

• Assisting with billing, insurance claims, and other financial tasks

• Liaising with other healthcare providers and specialists as required

• Performing various administrative tasks to support the practice

• Coordinating with the medical team to ensure smooth office operations

• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to all relevant medical regulations and policies

What we're looking for

• Some experience as a medical receptionist or patient-facing roles.

• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritise and manage a busy workload

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Proficient in using Microsoft office applications.

• Some experience in using medical practice management software. Proficiency is highly desirable.

• A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure

• A friendly, professional and empathetic demeanour

• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals

• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to all relevant regulations

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated healthcare team
