About the role

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
As a shot crew personnel at Norton Gold Fields, you are expected to play a critical role in safely executing blast operations in line with regulatory and company standards. You will provide support to the Shotfirer, manage explosives and magazine records, and ensure timely, controlled detonations to support production goals. This role also requires strong attention to safety, compliance, and quality throughout all stages of the blasting process.
Mark up and prepare blast patterns accurately.
Measure (dip) blast holes to verify correct depths before and after charging.
Prime and load explosives safely using hose and auger delivery systems.
Stem blast holes and tie-in patterns according to approved plans.
Support the Shotfirer in all blasting and explosives security activities.
Maintain compliance with company safety standards and training requirements.
Participate in ongoing training and development as outlined in company plans.
ABOUT YOU
Valid WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (Essential).
Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
At least 12 months of relevant experience in Open Pit blasting or similar (Essential).
Comfortable assisting the shotfirer, handling explosives and assisting with blast operations.
