About the role

As the Assistant Supervisor at Port Giles, you’ll be a key leader helping to drive the success of one of our essential grain-handling terminals on the Yorke Peninsula. This role blends hands-on operational work with strategic coordination and team leadership—making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, challenge, and real-world impact.

With the support and guidance of the Operations Supervisor you will lead a diverse team of permanent and seasonal employees. From overseeing grain receival and storage during the peak of harvest, to managing outloading logistics and grain quality throughout the year, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the supply chain.

This is a role where you’ll be expected to lead from the front. Whether you’re mentoring a seasonal worker or stepping in to help with a technical issue, your influence will shape both the culture and performance of the Port Giles site.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Assist with Supervising and coordinating of daily operations across the Port Giles terminal, ensuring all grain receival, storage, outloading activities and ship loading are carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Ensure the quality and quantity of grain stored at Port Giles meets Bunge’s high standards
• Enforce and champion safety protocols, ensuring a secure and compliant workplace.
• Administer safety, food safety, and quality documentation to maintain compliance
• Contribute to the planning and execution of operational strategies to meet safety, quality, and efficiency targets
• Support the recruitment, selection, and induction of staff, fostering a high-performance culture
• Represent Bunge positively to internal and external stakeholders, whilst cultivating lasting relationships with our grower customers, ensuring exceptional service.

About you

• Proven leadership experience in operations, preferably within grain handling, logistics, agriculture, or a similar industry.
• Strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational best practices.
• Hands-on, practical approach with the ability to lead by example.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and build relationships.
• Skilled in planning, coordinating, and prioritising tasks in a dynamic, seasonal environment.
• Confident problem-solver with sound decision-making abilities.
• Motivated, adaptable, and ready to take ownership of a key site in the supply chain.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using reporting systems.
• Current driver’s licence.
