About the role
ABOUT US
At Integral Fire, we’re proud to be a family-owned and operated fire protection company specialising in the installation, service and maintenance of both wet and dry fire systems.
Due to the recent acquisition of two of W.A.‘s largest privately owned commercial/retail property portfolios and ongoing growth as a company, we’re looking for a Portables Technician to join our friendly and professional team on a full-time basis.
We work across a wide range of sectors including heavy industrial, commercial construction, mining, resources, property and strata management, education, health, aged care and retail.
Thanks to the scope of our services and diverse client base, we offer a dynamic and rewarding career path with real opportunities for professional growth and up-skilling.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a hands-on, autonomous role servicing portable firefighting equipment across our client sites, where you will be responsible for:
• Inspection, testing, servicing and tagging of portable fire equipment in accordance with AS1851, including fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets;
• Pressure testing, recharging and refurbishment of extinguishers, plus replacement and installation of new equipment;
• Identifying defects and non-conformances, and carrying out minor rectification and installation works such as signage, brackets and hose reel components;
• Assisting with servicing and testing of fire hydrants, boosters and other systems as required;
• Accurate completion of service records, defect reports and asset registers on our digital platform;
• Managing your own daily run of sites, stock and vehicle;
• Working closely with clients, building managers, contractors and team members to ensure compliance and quality service delivery.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a motivated and reliable technician who is self-sufficient, takes ownership of their work and is keen to build a long-term career in fire protection. Experience is preferred, however we are equally interested in hearing from candidates from a trade, maintenance or hands-on background who are willing to learn. Ideally, you will bring:
• Experience servicing portable fire equipment and a working knowledge of AS1851 and AS2444 (preferred, not essential);
• The ability to work autonomously, manage your own schedule and get through a full run of sites without supervision;
• A positive work ethic and genuine commitment to safety;
• A professional and personable approach to dealing with clients, tenants and contractors;
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accurate record keeping and compliance;
• Good communication, problem-solving and time management skills;
• Reasonable physical fitness, as the role involves regular lifting and moving of equipment;
• Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (or willingness to obtain);
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence;
• Construction Induction (White Card) or willingness to obtain;
• National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
Where licences and qualifications are not already held, we are happy to fund and facilitate the completion of various certificates and training to assist you in further career development within the fire protection industry.
WHAT’S ON OFFER
• Competitive salary based on experience + vehicle + phone + super.
• Full training and a clear pathway to qualification for the right person.
• Supportive and down-to-earth team culture.
• Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
• Career progression, including the opportunity to cross-train into wet and dry fire systems.
• Variety of sites and clients, no two days the same.
