MOTOR DEALER SERVICE MANAGER

About the role

Trinity Auto Group Pty Ltd is seeking a Motor Dealer Service Manager to join our team in Cairns, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our aftersales service department. As Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service delivery, maximising service revenue, and leading a team of technicians and service reception teams. This role is integral to the success of our dealership and directly impacts customer satisfaction, retention, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aftersales service operations, including scheduling, workflow coordination, and quality assurance

• Oversee and supervise service reception staff and technical staff, ensuring they deliver excellent customer service and meet performance targets

• Develop and implement service strategies to increase revenue and market share within the local Cairns area

• Ensure all service work is completed to manufacturer specifications and meets customer expectations

• Monitor and manage service department budgets, labour and expense costs. Manage WIP to company policy

• Handle customer complaints and resolution of service issues in a professional and timely manner

• Maintain compliance with all relevant automotive industry regulations, safety standards, and dealership policies

• Implement training programmes for service staff to enhance technical skills and customer service capabilities

• Liaise with dealership management to report on department performance, profitability, and strategic initiatives

• Develop promotional initiatives to drive service business and customer loyalty

• 70 - 75 appointments per day workshop

• Multi - brand service department

What we're looking for

• Minimum 7 year's experience in an automotive aftersales service management role or similar position within a motor dealership environment

• Proven track record of successfully managing volume service departments, meeting revenue targets, and improving customer satisfaction scores

• Strong knowledge of automotive service operations, including technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and warranty repair procedures

• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

• Proficiency with dealership management systems and service software platforms

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, staff, and management

• Sound financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyse performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions

• Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service quality

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive service management, or equivalent experience demonstrating competence in this field

• Valid driver's licence and willingness to test drive vehicles as required

• Desirable: Experience with our automotive brands, reconditioning and pre delivery departments; knowledge of digital service solutions and customer relationship management systems.

• Pentana DMS, Triage, Podium and Dealer Studio are the operational systems in use within the department.

The Package:

• Base Salary: $100,000 per year plus super.

• Weekly and Monthly KPI incentives: variable bonuses tied to performance.

• Drive Vehicle with FBT.

• OTE , tied to performance further information disclosed upon application.

• Relocation payment: Costs to be discussed with successful applicant.
