Gemco Rail specialises in the manufacture, maintenance and overhaul of wagons, locomotives, passenger cars, rollingstock components and track maintenance equipement to support our customers to maintain their operations effectively and efficiently and maximise the life of their assets.
About The Role
Gemco has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Boilermaker to join our team on a full-time basis in Forrestfield, Western Australia. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of our rail fleet. You will be responsible for assessing, preparing, repairing, and overhauling a variety of rolling stock components, including rail wagons, wheelsets, bogies, and other rail equipment. Working within a skilled and supportive team, you will apply your trade expertise to carry out high-quality repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, contributing to the efficient operation of our rail services.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Boilermaker looking to further develop their skills in the rail industry while working for a company that values safety, quality, and teamwork.
This role will report to Project Delivery Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out the welding of components to a finished state. Ensure that all welding is to a standard of AS1554,3992 & 1665 Read drawings and manufacture components as per drawings. Manufacture and fabricate brackets, fixtures, tooling, fittings and equipment. Fabricating and building wagons Carry out metal fabrication of components.
About You
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
National relevant trade qualifications C Class Drivers licence Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Ability to work unsupervised and adhere to strict deadlines Able to perform general fitting duties
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experiences:
Previous experience in the rail industry would be highly sought, though not essential National High Risk Work Licence – Forklift National High Risk Work Licence – Rigging & Dogging
