Project Officer - Grants Assessment & Administration
$42.90 - $70.80 per hour + super | Parramatta | Hybrid
Contract through to 30 June 2027 | Two positions available
The Opportunity
We are recruiting two experienced Project Officers to support the delivery of major government grant programs focused on electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and sustainability initiatives.
These are hands-on delivery roles with a strong focus on grant assessment, acquittals, administration and stakeholder communication. They are best suited to versatile Project Officers who can quickly interpret funding guidelines, manage competing priorities and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.
The Positions
Role 1 Fleet Incentive and Curbside Charging Programs
This position will work across two grant programs and provide flexible support to different project teams throughout the remainder of the financial year.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing grant applications against funding guidelines and eligibility requirements
- Reviewing supporting evidence, milestones and acquittal documentation
- Preparing recommendations and supporting payment approvals
- Maintaining accurate assessment records and program documentation
- Learning and applying different program guidelines quickly
- Supporting events and community engagement activities, approximately 10-15% of the role
- Collaborating across multiple project and program teams
This role would suit a versatile Project Officer with grants administration or assessment experience who is comfortable moving between programs and priorities.
Role 2 EV Charging Grants Program
This position will support a $10 million grant program helping strata buildings prepare for and install electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The program is entering a delivery-intensive stage, creating a significant volume of assessments, acquittals and administrative work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing applications, evidence and acquittal documentation
- Managing detailed program administration and maintaining accurate records
- Communicating with applicants and stakeholders regarding requirements and outstanding information
- Responding to enquiries clearly and professionally
- Supporting website updates and community outreach activities
- Managing competing priorities and high-volume workloads
- Working closely with the Program Manager and broader delivery team
Knowledge of strata schemes, owners corporations or property-related grant programs would be highly regarded.
About You
To succeed in either position, you will ideally demonstrate:
- Previous experience in grants administration, application assessment, program delivery or a similar project support role
- Experience reviewing applications, evidence, milestones or acquittals against established guidelines
- The ability to interpret and apply detailed funding or program requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence engaging with applicants, stakeholders and internal teams
- Excellent administration, organisation and record-keeping skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines
- A flexible approach and the ability to contribute with minimal supervision
- Experience using SmartyGrants or a similar grants management platform is highly desirable
- NSW Government or public-sector experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of strata schemes or owners corporations will be particularly valuable for the EV Charging Grants position
Contract Details
- Two positions available
- Contract commencing as soon as possible, subject to onboarding requirements
- Contract through to 30 June 2027
- Parramatta office with hybrid working arrangements
- Up to eight hours per day and 40 hours per week
- $42.90-$70.80 per hour + superannuation, depending on experience
- No overtime required
- Successful candidates must complete the required pre-employment checks, including a criminal history check
