About the Role

Technical Solutions Engineers are one of Beonic's earliest touchpoints with prospective customers, working alongside our Sales Teams to help customers quickly identify which of our solutions best fit their needs. You'll bring deep knowledge of sensor technologies and IoT deployment, and the ability to translate complex technical capability into clear, tailored messaging for audiences ranging from technical evaluators to senior decision-makers.

You'll partner closely with the VP Technical Operations and Sales team on strategic opportunities, customer engagements, solution design, and project delivery — while feeding customer and market insight back into the business through regular cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Develop inbound leads into quantifiable opportunities and support customers through technical discovery, uncovering business and technical requirements while surfacing risks early in the sales cycle
• Conduct desktop site surveys using architectural drawings, photos and video to determine hardware models and installation requirements
• Build and present total solutions to customers, including bills of materials, indicative pricing and project timelines
• Document project requirements clearly for Product and Engineering teams, and ensure a structured handover to Delivery and Technical Operations
• Nurture existing customer relationships and stay closely attuned to how customers use our products
• Prioritise workload to keep pace with quarterly revenue goals
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to others in your area of expertise, and maintain relevant certifications
• Support customer demonstrations and Proof of Concepts
• Travel for customer site visits, workshops and Proof of Concepts across Australia and the APAC region

About You

• 5+ years in a Technical Solutions role, including 5+ years' networking experience (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, wireless networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)
• Skilled at turning ambiguity into a clear technical and engagement plan, and comfortable proposing solutions in early-stage or unstructured situations
• Able to gather customer requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions that balance customer outcomes with delivery best practice
• Confident defining and documenting high-level solution and system architectures, and explaining how components interact
• Comfortable estimating effort, duration and pricing for both entire engagements and individual tasks
• Strong written and verbal communicator, able to inform and persuade both technical and non-technical audiences
• Deep expertise in your core solution area, with the ability to quickly build proficiency in partner technologies
• Background in transportation, smart cities, software, or a related field
• Collaborative by nature, working well across Sales, Product, Engineering and Delivery

Nice to Have

• Experience in aviation or transportation-sector technology
• An eye for design, or experience with design software
• Background in IoT, people counting, smart buildings, retail analytics or smart city technologies
• Exposure to REST APIs, cloud platforms or third-party integrations
• Experience interpreting architectural drawings and producing technical solution documentation
