General Practitioner / GP Supervisor

About the Role
South Yarra Clinic is seeking an experienced General Practitioner with the capacity to provide Level 1 supervision to join our established and progressive practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a GP who enjoys teaching, mentoring and supporting developing doctors, while continuing to maintain their own clinical workload and patient base. Our practice has a predominantly young, professional and family-oriented patient population, creating a dynamic and varied clinical environment. We offer experienced administrative and nursing support, modern facilities and a Practice Manager with more than 20 years' experience, allowing you to focus on clinical care and supervision rather than practice administration.The successful GP will provide close clinical supervision, guidance and mentoring to a Level 1 supervised doctor, while maintaining appropriate clinical oversight and supporting their development toward greater independence.

The Supervision Role
As a Level 1 supervisor, you will play an important role in providing a safe and supportive clinical environment for a developing doctor.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing direct clinical supervision and oversight appropriate to the doctor's level of experienceBeing available for clinical advice and case discussionReviewing and discussing consultations where requiredSupporting clinical decision-making, patient management and appropriate referralsProviding constructive feedback and ongoing mentoringAssisting the doctor to develop confidence, clinical competence and professional independenceParticipating in appropriate teaching and professional development activitiesWorking collaboratively with the Practice Manager and clinical team to ensure appropriate governance and patient safety

A Day in the Life
Your day can be structured around your preferred clinical sessions, with dedicated time available for supervision, teaching and case discussion. You may see a combination of routine GP consultations, chronic disease management, women's and men's health, preventative medicine, mental health and acute presentations, supported by our experienced nursing and administration team. The Level 1 doctor will have access to appropriate supervision and guidance throughout the day, with opportunities for discussion, feedback and teaching built into the clinical environment. About You
We are looking for an experienced GP who:
Holds FRACGP, FACRRM or an equivalent recognised qualificationHas current AHPRA registrationHas the experience and qualifications required to provide Level 1 supervision Has a genuine interest in teaching, mentoring and developing doctorsDemonstrates strong clinical judgement and commitment to patient safetyHas a collaborative, professional and ethical approachIs comfortable providing appropriate clinical oversight and feedbackValues high-quality, patient-centred general practicePrevious GP supervision or teaching experience will be highly regarded.
