Financial Crime Controls Assurance Manager

As Financial Crime Controls Assurance Manager, you will provide independent oversight and challenge across critical financial crime controls while helping improve governance and risk outcomes across Tabcorp.

Your role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compliance and Assurance, you will lead financial crime controls assurance activities and help strengthen the effectiveness of key risk controls across the enterprise. Specifically, you will:

Develop annual Financial Crime Assurance Plans based on risk assessments, regulatory obligations and emerging financial crime risks.Coach and support assurance team members in performing control assessments and assurance activities for Financial Crime.Lead financial crime controls assurance reviews end to endConduct control walkthroughs across key processesAssess compliance with AML/CTF Program requirements, regulatory obligations, internal policies and procedures.Design and execute controls testing programsIdentify root causes and practical improvementsDraft assurance reports and communicate findingsMonitor remediation activities and action trackingSupport internal and external audits, regulatory reviews and independent reviews relating to financial crime compliance.

What You Will Need To Succeed

You are an experienced assurance, audit or risk professional with strong stakeholder skills and a passion for improving controls. You will also possess:

Experience in controls assurance, audit or riskDeep understanding of financial crime controlsStrong knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, AUSTRAC expectationsStrong understanding of financial crime risk management principles, including AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring and regulatory complianceStrong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance and industry better practice.Proven ability to assess control effectivenessStrong stakeholder engagement and influenceCommercial and pragmatic risk mindsetContinuous improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing financial crime risk management capabilityExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience within highly regulated industries such as financial services, wagering, banking, gaming, payments or professional services.

Professional certifications desirable:

CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)ICA Advanced Certificate in AML or Financial CrimeCIA, CISA, CPA or CAACAMS Audit Certification (desirable)
