Veterinary Receptionist

We are a well-established, independently owned small animal GP clinic in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. We have built strong, long-standing relationships with our clients and their pets, and our reception team plays a huge part in creating the warm, personal experience our clinic is known for.

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, warmth and confidence to their interactions with people, while also being organised, reliable and comfortable managing the important details behind the scenes.

As one of the first points of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in creating the experience people have with Avenue Road Stirling Veterinary Surgery.

No two days are exactly the same, so you’ll enjoy a role that combines people, communication, organisation and problem-solving.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

·         Answering telephone calls in a warm, friendly and confident manner

·         Welcoming clients and their pets into the clinic and helping them feel comfortable

·         Booking and managing appointments

·         Responding to client enquiries and providing appropriate information

·         Maintaining accurate client and patient records

·         Processing payments and managing client accounts

·         Supporting our veterinary and nursing teams throughout the day

·         Helping manage the flow of the reception area and ensuring clients receive a positive experience

·         Assisting clients with empathy and compassion, including during difficult or emotional situations

·         Managing competing priorities while remaining professional, organised and approachable

·         Working collaboratively with the entire team to ensure our patients receive the best possible care

We are a small GP veterinary clinic, which means relationships really matter.

At the same time, you’ll play an important part in ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and that every client, patient and team member receives the support they need.

This is a full-time position, including some Saturday shifts as part of the roster.

Previous veterinary reception experience would be highly regarded, but it isn’t essential.

We are also very open to applicants with strong reception, administration or customer service experience who have a genuine love of animals, enjoy working with people and are willing to learn.
