Role Description This part-time Data Analyst (Entry / Junior) role supports the editorial and operational teams of Cell Reports Medicine in Sydney, NSW through data-driven insights. The position is hybrid, with core activities performed on-site in Sydney and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting, cleaning, and organizing data related to manuscript submissions, review processes, readership metrics, and journal performance. The analyst will assist in building basic data models, generating regular reports, and visualizing trends that inform editorial decisions and strategic planning. Additional tasks may include supporting ad hoc analyses, documenting methodologies, and communicating findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and foundational Data Analytics capabilities.Candidates should possess basic knowledge of Statistics for interpreting datasets and supporting evidence-based decisions.Candidates should possess skills in Data Modeling, including simple models and structured data organization.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to explain data findings to diverse, non-technical audiences.Candidates should ideally have experience with spreadsheet tools and introductory data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Python, R, or similar).Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, and an interest in biomedical or clinical research.An associate or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, data science, mathematics, public health, or related discipline), or equivalent practical experience, is preferred but not strictly required.
