About the role
The Quality & Compliance Manager at Yokohama Tyre Australia leads the company's quality management systems and WH&S protocols nationwide for both Yokohama and Tyres and More Company Stores. Key responsibilities include conducting national site audits against international standards and local safety laws, managing internal staff training and document control frameworks, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and incident investigations.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and improve the company's quality frameworks, ensuring all processes align with Yokohama Rubber Company (Japan) global standards.
Schedule and conduct regular internal audits across all sites (warehouses and Tyres and More service centres) to ensure strict adherence to WH&S regulations and quality protocols.
Utilise SAP to manage quality notifications, record audit findings, and generate technical reports.
Lead root-cause analysis for any safety breaches, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
Lead and drive the head office WH&S committee.
Develop and deliver training modules for staff using our inhouse online training system.
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring all certifications remain current.
Monitor and report on site safety metrics to senior leadership.
About you
At least 5–7 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably within the automotive, manufacturing, or logistics sectors.
Proven background in Quality Management, ideally within the automotive or tyre industry.
Extensive Experience with Quality Management Systems is essential for conducting internal audits and managing external compliance.
Demonstrated experience in establishing document control systems and versioning protocols.
Qualification or extensive experience in Lead Auditing and a deep understanding of Australian WH&S acts and Tyre Industry regulations.
Strong ability to translate complex compliance requirements into actionable steps for site staff.
The ability to influence Store/Site Managers and warehouse staff to adopt safety cultures, often requiring a mix of diplomacy and firm authority.
A valid Australian Driver's License is required, as the role involves traveling to various Yokohama warehouses and Tyres and More sites for hands-on auditing.
