ABOUT THE ROLE

BDCDA Inc is looking for a Community Development Officer. This a part-time position, 15 hours per week. The position requires the approved applicant to have community development experience, be adaptable in your approach and willing to be flexible to accommodate the changing needs of our local community. 

ABOUT YOU

BDCDA (also known locally as the Beenleigh Neighbourhood Centre) is located in the heart of Beenleigh. Our organisation has been operational for more than 30 years. We currently have state government funding under two streams. The larger of the two, is a Specialist Homelessness Service (SHS) with two sub-programs.

The Community Development and Support Service program currently has a Community Projects Officer, a Community Inclusion Officer and a Administration Officer. The Centre manager oversees the two programs, centre and groups and reports to the management committee which is our governing body.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

BDCDA is open to staff working flexible work hours and days. While there are options to work from home, there is a preference for all staff have work in the office setting one day per week. The role has a  training budget (pro-rated to the 15 hours per week), professional development and external supervision are also offered. BDCDA also offer salary packaging.

The office is a 5 minute walk from the train and bus station. There is parking onsite but some days are tight due to groups meeting in the centre.
