About the role
The Inspector-General of Aged Care Act 2023 sets out the Inspector-General’s functions and powers. The Inspector-General is appointed by the Governor-General and is responsible for overseeing the operation of the aged care system. The Inspector-General will be the Accountable Authority and Agency Head and is the senior leader of the OIGAC.
