Glendale offers all levels of permanent and respite care and are known specialists in supporting and caring for people living with dementia making this home one of the most comprehensive Aged Care facilities in Victoria.

As the Chef, you will prepare and cook a variety of meals, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and customer expectations. You will supervise staff, manage stock, and ensure safe use of kitchen equipment. You will maintain hygiene standards, provide on-the-job training, and support budgeting efforts, while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensures compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations, including the preparation and service of food to vulnerable persons, in line with Bolton Clarke's quality standards and legislative requirements.
• Prepares and cooks a variety of meals, including main dishes, baked goods, and special dietary requirements, portions, presents, and serves food in a professional manner that meets customer expectations.
• Maintains and appropriately uses kitchen equipment, ensures that all appliances and tools are handled safely and effectively, and conducts regular checks for maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assists in the supervision, training, and day-to-day guidance of lower-level employees, provides on-the-job training to support team members' development and maintains high operational standards.

To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:

• Minimal experience in commercial catering or other food services for the Aged in either a nursing home or hospital practice setting is preferred.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is prescribed.
• Strong knowledge of Food Safety & Compliance and Food Handling Regulations.
• Proficient in Workforce Planning, Equipment Maintenance, Activity Planning and Inventory Management skills.
• Excellent Communication, Customer Experience and Cross-Functional Team Working skills.
