OverviewAre you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in electrical infrastructure? We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead the delivery of a substation construction project in rural Victoria. This is a unique opportunity to take on a hands-on leadership role with a leading EPC contractor specialising in major transmission and distribution infrastructure projects across Australia.This role is ideal for a Project Manager who thrives in a site-based environment and is confident managing electrical, civil, and structural works. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
ResponsibilitiesAs the Project Manager, you will:Lead the site-based delivery of substation construction works from mobilisation through to completionManage programme, cost, quality, and safety across all work frontsCoordinate electrical, civil, and structural scopes of workAct as the key point of contact for client and stakeholder managementOversee subcontractors and supply chain to ensure smooth project progressionIdentify and resolve risks and issues proactively to avoid project delaysSupport commissioning activities and project close-out
QualificationsTo excel in this role, you will need:5 to 8 years of experience in project management within transmission and distribution or broader energy infrastructureA strong electrical background, with solid working knowledge of civil and structural worksProven experience in EPC contractingSubstation project experience (highly regarded)The ability to work effectively in a rural, site-based environmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsFlexibility to work on a roster-based schedule or Monday to Friday, depending on your preference
Day-to-DayYour typical day will involve:Overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standardsMonitoring project progress and addressing any issues that ariseCoordinating with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to maintain alignment on project goalsCommunicating with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address concernsManaging subcontractors and ensuring timely delivery of materials and servicesConducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with project specifications
