About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Baker or Apprentice Baker to join our team at our Wagga Wagga location on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a professional bakery environment where you will contribute to the production of fresh, quality baked goods. Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes and other baked products according to established recipes and quality standards

• Measure and mix ingredients using both traditional methods and modern baking equipment

• Monitor dough fermentation and baking times to ensure consistent product quality

• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in the bakery workspace

• Operate and maintain bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, proofing cabinets and other specialised tools

• Assist with stock management and ordering of baking ingredients and supplies

• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines

• Ensure the bakery workspace is kept clean and organised at all times

• Support packaging and presentation of finished products for retail display

• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

• A Certificate III in Baking or equivalent qualification (for qualified baker positions), or active participation in an apprenticeship programme (for apprentice positions)

• Sound knowledge of baking principles, ingredients, techniques and product specifications

• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent quality standards

• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety regulations

• Proficiency in using standard bakery equipment safely and effectively

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under time pressure

• Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items and working in a warm environment

• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues

• Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to professional standards

• A genuine passion for baking and commitment to producing high-quality products

• Prior experience in a commercial bakery environment is advantageous
