Retail Data Acquisition Services (RDAS) has become one of Australia's largest retail data collection service companies. RDAS provides clients with valuable insights into their own and competitors' products and services through data collection, mystery shopping, auditing, and merchandising.

In this role, you'll work closely with one of our largest clients, United Petroleum, an independent, Australian-owned petrol and convenience retailer offering premium-quality fuels and competitive pricing nationwide.

About the Role

As a Retail Performance Lead, you will coach and support retailer partners, drive commercial performance, and ensure every site consistently delivers operational excellence.

This is a hands-on, 12-month fixed-term field position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being on the road, developing people, solving problems, and improving business performance.

Territory: Ideally based in Melbourne's outer south east or Gippsland (e.g. Pakenham, Warragul, Traralgon or surrounding areas), as the territory extends from Melbourne through Gippsland to Cann River. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of United Petroleum sites, taking ownership of regional performance and operational outcomes.
• Coach and support store teams, influencing retailer engagement and capability.
• Ensure sites consistently meet United Petroleum's operational, safety, food safety, and customer service standards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and governance, including HSSE, food safety, and employment standards.
• Ensure audit requirements are met and corrective actions are completed within required timeframes.
• Drive sales growth, profitability, and overall commercial performance across your portfolio.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, stock availability, and pricing execution.
• Monitor daily performance reporting (including Power BI) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop and implement improvement plans for underperforming sites.
• Support site changeovers, new store openings, and redevelopments.
• Deliver a consistent customer experience aligned with brand standards, promotional campaigns, and mystery shop expectations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• On-Call Support for urgent operational matters such as alarms, break-ins, and other critical site issues outside of standard business hours.

About You

• 3-5+ years' experience in multi-site retail, convenience, QSR, or other high-volume retail environments.
• Strong operational leadership and performance management experience.
• Proven ability to coach, influence, and develop teams across multiple locations.
• Commercially minded with a track record of improving sales and operational performance.
• Comfortable using data and reporting tools such as Power BI to make informed decisions.
• Hands-on leadership style with high standards and strong accountability.
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities.
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
