The Role – Inspire Incredible

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead the overall Rooms Division encompassing Front Office, Concierge, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Club InterContinental.

Leading a division of approximately 90 colleagues, including an experienced team of department leaders, you will set the direction for the Rooms experience, develop your leaders and create an environment where our teams can perform at their best.

This is a hands-on and highly visible operational leadership role. You will be present across the hotel, connected to your teams and our guests, while maintaining a strong focus on the performance and continuous improvement of the Rooms Division.

You will lead through your department heads, building capability and creating a high-performance culture defined by accountability, collaboration, development and exceptional guest experiences. You will bring our “Inspiring Incredible” ambition to life, developing confident leaders and engaged teams who take ownership of the guest experience.

Operational and commercial performance will be central to your role. You will drive Rooms Division results across guest experience, quality standards, labour and productivity, departmental profitability, operational efficiency and revenue optimisation, using data and guest insights to identify opportunities and continually improve performance.

You will work closely with leaders across the hotel to ensure the Rooms experience is seamlessly connected to the broader guest journey, while building strong relationships and collaboration across departments.

We are open to hearing from both established Directors of Rooms and high-performing Rooms Division Managers ready to take the next step.

You will bring:

• Significant Rooms leadership experience within a luxury, upper-upscale or comparable high-volume hotel environment.
• Strong operational experience across multiple Rooms disciplines, with demonstrated understanding of both Front Office and Housekeeping operations.
• Experience leading through department managers, developing leaders and building engaged, high-performing teams.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing labour, productivity, budgets, departmental profitability and operational performance.
• A proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences while improving operational effectiveness.
• A strong understanding of luxury hospitality and the ability to translate brand and service standards into genuine, personalised guest experiences.
• The ability to balance the needs of the guest, your people and the business within a complex, high-volume operation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple hotel departments.
• A visible, hands-on leadership style – you enjoy being in the operation, engaging with guests, supporting your leaders and understanding what is happening across your division.
• The ambition and potential to continue developing towards broader Director Operations and Hotel Manager
• You will require full and unrestricted Australian working rights, or appropriate working rights with the ability to meet sponsorship requirements.
