About the role
The Taylors Culture and Difference
At Taylors, we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of belonging, growth, and innovation, where you can contribute to both business and personal success. We bring our full selves to work each day alongside talented, supportive, and dedicated teams.
This isn’t a full list, of course—we feel we have a lot to offer you!
Role Snapshot
We are looking for an experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing Design team within a multidisciplinary consultancy.
This is a great opportunity for a landscape architect who has strong land development and subdivision experience and enjoys taking projects from concept and planning through detailed documentation, tender and construction.
You’ll work closely with Civil Engineers, Urban Designers, Planners, Surveyors and Architects to deliver practical, high-quality landscape outcomes across a diverse range of projects.
Our landscape team is small and collaborative, operating within a larger multidisciplinary business. The role will have a strong focus on greenfield land development, residential subdivisions and larger master planned estates, particularly across Victoria’s growth areas.
You’ll be involved in projects ranging from smaller subdivisions through to larger residential estates, as well as medium-to-high-density residential, commercial, industrial and community developments.
A key part of the role is the technical delivery of landscape works packages, including streetscapes, open spaces, reserves and wetlands.
You’ll also work directly with Councils, Melbourne Water, clients and contractors, so a strong understanding of relevant processes, approvals and construction requirements is essential.
How You Will Contribute
Lead and support landscape design and delivery across land development and subdivision projects.
Prepare landscape outcomes and documentation to meet Council subdivision requirements and Melbourne Water requirements.
Develop Town Planning documentation and approval packages.
Produce high-quality Working Drawings and Construction Documentation.
Prepare tender documentation and deliverables, including AS4000 requirements.
Assist with construction and contract administration, including contractor liaison and inspections.
Coordinate with clients, Councils, Melbourne Water, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Assist with project management, fee proposals, program and client communication.
Provide technical guidance and maintain high drafting and documentation standards.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture and help deliver practical designs that can be successfully constructed and maintained.
Our Ideal Person
We’re looking for an experienced landscape architect who understands the realities of land development and subdivision projects and can confidently move between project coordination and detailed technical delivery.
You’ll ideally have:
7–10 years’ experience in landscape architecture, with strong experience across residential and industrial subdivision projects.
Proven experience working within land development consultancies, particularly across Victoria’s growth areas.
Advanced AutoCAD skills and a strong understanding of landscape construction documentation.
Strong knowledge of landscape construction, materials, detailing and common horticultural practices.
Experience preparing documentation for Council approvals and subdivision processes.
Familiarity with Melbourne Water processes and requirements.
Strong contractor, consultant and Council negotiation skills.
Experience taking projects from detailed design and documentation through to construction.
Strong Excel skills for documentation and contract/project management.
An accredited degree in Landscape Architecture.
Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
At Taylors, we actively seek talent from all backgrounds. We welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and minority groups. Diverse perspectives strengthen our team, and we’re committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone thrives.
