Deputy Head of Junior School - Curriculum & Pedagogy

The Role

PLC is seeking an outstanding educational leader with a genuine passion for teaching and learning to provide strategic leadership of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment across the Junior School.

Working closely with the Head of Junior School and as a key member of the Junior School Leadership Team, you will lead educational improvement, strengthen teacher capability and champion evidence-informed practice to enhance outcomes for every student. You will also work collaboratively with leaders and colleagues across the College to support a coherent and aligned approach to teaching and learning from ELC to Year 12.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

• Lead teaching, learning, curriculum and assessment across the Junior School
• Drive evidence-informed pedagogical improvement and innovation
• Build teacher capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning
• Use data and assessment evidence to inform priorities and improve student outcomes
• Lead and support Subject and Learning Enhancement Leaders
• Contribute strategically to the leadership of the Junior School and broader College

• Passionate about contemporary curriculum, pedagogy and excellent teaching
• Skilled in coaching, mentoring and developing teachers and leaders
• An evidence-informed leader who uses data and research to drive improvement
• A collaborative and relational leader who can successfully lead change
• Committed to supporting the Christian ethos, values and educational mission of PLC

 Applicants must:

• Hold a current teaching qualification and current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration. 
• A Masters in Educational Leadership or Curriculum Leadership is desirable. 

Start Date: Term 1, 2027
