Event Manager - Events & Digital Experiences

About the role

Synergy Effect designs and delivers high-stakes corporate events for some of Australia's largest listed and private organisations: conferences, award ceremonies, product launches and incentive programs, where the budget, the guest list and the stakes are all sizeable. You'll run the operational side of every event you're assigned: the Project Plan, the supplier contracts, the budget and the on-site delivery. You'll work closely with Account Managers on scope and budget, and with the Head of Event Experience on resourcing and priorities across the team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants ownership of outcomes, not just a task list.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run detailed Project Plans for each event: milestones, resourcing, timelines and critical paths.

• Source, negotiate and manage suppliers across venues, production, AV, décor and catering.

• Prepare and own event budgets, track spend against actuals, and report on profitability.

• Coordinate delegate registration, travel and accommodation, and lead on-site operations.

• Keep Synergy Effect's SOPs and project documentation accurate, current and audit-ready.

• Lead post-event reviews and feed lessons learned back into how we work.

About you

• 5+ years managing corporate events end to end, including events with budgets of $250,000 or more.

• A track record preparing and managing budgets, negotiating supplier contracts and protecting project profitability.

• Strong organisational, negotiation and communication skills, and the judgement to resolve problems before they reach the client.

• Proficiency with event management software (EventsAir preferred) and project planning tools.

• Full-time availability, with occasional evening and weekend event work, and readiness to travel domestically and internationally as events require.
